Let me share my secret to the simplest way to document your business!

Thanks to the world we live in, documenting your business has never been easier. It seems every person lives on their smartphones these days and it is just that tool that is the start to documenting your business.

We each have tasks we know in the future will be delegated, however, for now we continue to do that task. Now is the time to start preparing for that delegation. The next time you are about to start the task, pull out your Smartphone. Now open the recording app and start recording. Talk out loud as you go through each step in the process of completing the task. Be sure to include absolutely everything as you are recording, no matter how small you think the step.

Here’s an example,

Writing a Blog Post

Go to [insert website url]. Type in the username [insert username] and [password]. Click the Log in button. This will take you to the dashboard. On the left-hand side, you will see “Posts.” Click that and click on “Add New” … and so on including how you like to format, how to choose category names, etc..

Once you have finished your recording save the file as the task. In this case, “Writing a Blog Post.” Now when the person you hire is ready to do your first blog post they will simply open the file and listen to it. There you will be walking them through the process. They can pause as needed and rewind for clarification.

The best part … you don’t need to physically be there to show them how to do this task.

The second best part … in the future, they can transcribe this recording, add screenshots and voila you have the starting of your operations manual!
